Dr. Mir Asif got his master's degree from the National Board of Examination in New Delhi, India, and his medical degree from North West University in St. Petersburg. At Fortis Escorts Hospital and Sir Ganagaram Hospital Delhi, he finished his surgical residency.

Dr. Mir Asif is board qualified in both general surgery and laparoscopic surgery. He completed his fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery at the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons.
